The ←→↑↓ keys nudge the
selection the way the view is facing, a grid step at a time;
Shift nudges up and down instead.
Left drag selects, middle drag orbits, right drag pans,
Alt+left orbits. Shift adds to the selection,
Ctrl picks a single object out of a group.
On a laptop with no mouse, switch the top bar to Trackpad:
two fingers on the pad orbit, Shift+two fingers pan,
Ctrl+two fingers zoom, and a two-finger tap is a right
click. Left drag and Alt+left drag still do what they
did.
The wheel zooms towards whatever the pointer is over, taking a share
of the distance to it each notch: metres at a time across the arena,
millimetres up against a crate. Point at something further off to
cover ground again.
Preview, in the middle of the top bar, stands you in the map at six feet.
The arrow keys walk, the mouse looks, C crouches to three feet and
Esc brings you back to the view you left.
One gizmo does all three jobs: arrows move, the three coloured
circles turn about X, Y and Z, the cubes scale, and the disc in the
middle slides the selection across the view. Scaling holds the far
side still, so a piece grows the way you pull it.
